There's an old story in the folklores of India about an impoverished man named Sudama who was great friends with the god Krishna. His poverty had become so severe that one day Sudama's wife urged him to go and meet Krishna to seek help. She sent with him 4 handfuls of parched beaten rice as a gift for Krishna as that was all they could procure. Sudama went to Krishna's palace to be met with the highest forms of generosity. He was covered by Krishna in scents and perfumes of the highest order and together they joked about their boyhood days. Krishna then asked Sudama whether he had brought him anything to which Sudama remained silent out of shame. Being an omniscient  Krishna ordered that the rice be brought to him at once! Krishna enjoyed the little rice brought him by Sudama one grain at a time stating it to be his favorite food.

Once the entire spectacle was finished, he walked back home unable to ask Krishna's help out of shame only to come back home to a glorious palace at the place of his humble abode.

Welcome to Sudama!
